The Heart Nebula

The Heart Nebula is located in the constellation of Cassiopeia. This Heart Nebula is an Emission nebula with an open cluster at the center known as Melotte 15. The stellar winds from the open cluster have blown away the gas from the core of the nebula, giving a shape which, from one angle looks like a human heart with chambers and Aorta. From a 90 degree clockwise rotation, a second heart shape can be seen.

The Nebula is approximately 7500 light years away, and is best seen when looking North from Autumn through early Spring.
