This face-on galaxy in the constellation of Camelopardalis is the 3rd largest Galaxy in the Northern Hemisphere, but is not imaged as much as others. This is due mainly to its very low surface brightness, coupled with the fact that the Milky Way stars from Camelopardalis constellation obscure its view.

This image was taken over several nights with a TEC 140. This has a focal lenght of 1m allowing the Galaxay to fill the frame. This image has 6.5hrs of Luminace, and 9hrs of RGB. An additional 7hrs of Ha was added to show the star formation areas in pink, in the spiral arms. This photo was shortlisted at the 2018 'Astronomy Photographer of the year'.

Note: All our prints are printed on Baryta 325g Paper, which is an excellent paper for framing. The paper is a gloss type, which gives very vivid colour views
